4. Meat and meat fat
Avoid eating fatty meat products, such as marbled beef, pork chops and lamb burgers, bacon, frankfurters, salamis and other meats to keep your cholesterol in check. If you do eat meat, choose lean cuts and eat them in moderation (i.e., a 3- to 4-ounce portion, not a 10- to 12-ounce one!) with plenty of veggie sides.
